Phoenix, AZ – Arizona House Minority Leader Charlene Fernandez today released the following statement:
“Next August, the people of Maricopa County will go to the polls and cast their vote in the primary election to choose who they think best represents their interests. There may be many candidates on the ballot vying for the seat of Maricopa County Attorney. Maricopa is the nation’s fourth largest county, and the role of chief legal representative is no small task.
With this in mind, I enthusiastically endorse Julie Gunnigle for the position of Maricopa County Attorney. Julie is a longtime champion of criminal justice reform, and her platform is one that makes thoughtful improvements, while treating violent crime and corruption seriously.
This is the kind of advocacy we need in the Maricopa County Attorney’s office in 2020 and beyond.”
